Translator week 8

Hello! I'm Alicia Gomis the translator of week 8. As you know the role of the translator is to try to summarize what we have learned during the week in 5 terms. But these weeks are going to be different, we are working on complexity at the time that we spend a good time filming scenes of a news program. Therefore the vocabulary learned during this week has been different:

Theater director:
The theater director is responsible for supervise all the scenes and he/she has to be sure that everything goes as he has planned. He or she must be in charge of the actors and actresses and direct their scenes.  (In class we have some theater directors, success depends on them)

Chroma:
It is a technique which is used in order to make special effects. This week that technique has allowed my mates to add some background effects to our news channel. It is amazing, you only have to start recording in front of a green back and then edit the video.

Script:
The script is used as a guide for the presenters. They are papers that contain all the information that the presenters need in order to direct the news for example. So the role of the script is to organize the parts of the program and help the presenters to not to be lost when they are being recorded. All what they have to say is printed in those papers.

Chief:
This is another word that has been used a lot this week. The chiefs are the bosses, they must be in charge of a group. In this activity we were divided in different groups and there was one chief in each of them and they had to direct the actors (presenters, interviewers, reporters...). In short, they are like a kind of theater director but in small groups.

Finally, as we are working around complexity I think I had to repeat this term: Complexity theory.
According to this theory all complex systems are networks of many interdependence parts which interact between them. So everyone has different characteristics and what we have to do is to share our knowledge to the others, so in that way everyone would learn something new.
In schools (which are complex contexts), everyone (teachers, students, parents..) have their opinions and knowledge and they have to interchange this information and attitudes with the others.
